Individual kayak tour at Omulew
Omulew is the right inflow of Narew about 114 km long. It flows through the Mazurian Plain and Plain Kurpiowska. Canoeists are able to swimm it through from the Omulew Lake. The river ends in Ostro??ka, flowing into the Narew river. The upper parts of the river are the part of two reserves: Koniuszyn I and Koniuszyn II.
2-3 days kayak tour:
1st day: J. Omulew - D?bowiec /17 km
2nd day: D?bowiec - Ma?ga /15 km
3rd day: Ma?ga - G?uch Kol. /15 km
MILEAGE:
0.0 Jab?onka, the village near the Omulew lake (5,3 km2,
10 m
deep). You can pun kayaks on the water on many places, but You should make
agree with the owner of this areas. First etap of track is by the
Omulew lake.
8.5 Kot. In the willage, there is the road bridge, You
take some rest before the bridge. After the bridge, there are sharp stones, so
You must be careful to don’t break the kayak.
10.0 D?bowiec. Here You get to gate of old closed
mill. You must carry your kayak yourself on the left riverside. D?bowiec can be
the finish of first etap of Your kayak trip. On the right riverside, there is forestry.
In the Forestry Commission You can get the permission of making a camp.
24.5 Ma?ga id about 1,5 km after Ruda village, on the right
riverside. The river passing near the reserve in Ma?ga. It save the moor, where
are many species of plants.
33.5 Weso?owo. Big village on the right riverside. On the left
side, ter is very good place to make a camp, between the river and gate of neighboring school,
but You must have the permission from mayor of nearly village. From Weso?owo
the river start passing fields and meadows, the edge is quite high
and it can reduce your seeing. By the time You can notice the towers of
churches. Then You reach your aim – Wielbark.
43.0 Wielbark. Finish of the kayak trip is on the left
riverside, before theroad bridge.Community of
Wielbark is located in the southern part of
the Warmia-Mazury. Wielbark,
located on Sawica Omulew and received
city rights in 1723, which lost
in 1946. Wielbark is a big transportation
hub. It has good railway and bus
connections with Olsztyn,
Gdansk, Bialystok,
Lublin and
Warsaw. The municipality is the gateway to Warmia and
Masuria.
