Individual kayaking and canoing at Gołdapa river

River with many natural obstacles (including 4 long carriage of kayaks),  similar to mountain rivers with many gorges. Goes through high postglacial hills, with deep ravines. There are no camping places on the trail- it makes the river almost empty, wild and without any kayakers. 

0,00 km The beginning of the trail is on the Gołdap lake on the city beach, next to the river estuary. On the start place there is camping place, gests hoses, restaurant and cantina.

1,50 km You are reaching the leftovers after old bridge, There is big rapid with many obstacles in the water, if You don’t have kayaks made of polyethylene You can make big damage to the equipment .

3,20 km Bridge for trains and cars, on the route number 651 Gołdap - Wiżajny and for trains on the trail Gołdap - Ełk.

3,90 km Another bridge. Rapids are under all of those bridges but not each one of them is dangerous.

4,30 km Bridge on the trail number 657 from Ełku though Gołdap to the border. After passing this bridge You are almost in the center of the city Gołdap (You can do some shopping and sightseeing).

7,10 km Bridge. Farther remains of the narrow railway bridge. On the right side there is village Piękne Łąki.

12,40 km Bridge in village Skocze. In the village there is bus station and post office. After about 300 m behind  the bridge there is very good place for camping (It is crucial to speak with the owner before putting tents, he lives nearby). On the right side there are buildings of village Barkowo.

13,00 km Dam of water in Skocze. Depends on how big is the dam we carry or push the kayaks.

14,00 km On the right side there is forester's lodge Kumiecie. A bit farther there is very nice bank with to piers. It’ a good place for camoing (but it’s a private terrain so You need to get permission).

17,00 km You are reaching the bridge in Juchnajcie.

18,50 km On the right side there are some builidings from thevillage Jany a and on the left side single farms from village Sokoły.

19,80 km Wooden bridge on the route to Juchnajci.

20,60 km Mill-dam in Różyńsk Mały. It’s very hard to pass it because of inaccessible banks. After You pass this mill-dam You will have to pull Your kayak on very shallow water with many rocks in it (about 100-150m), You better have good shoes on Your feet. Now this is the beginning of the hardest part of the trail (about next 10km) with many natural obstacles in the water.

25,00 km Mill-dam in Boćwinka.

25,80 km Leftovers after the bridge in Boćwinka. Next to it there is swift current with concrete blocks and stones. You need to carry Your kayaks on the bank.

26,80 km On the left there is good place for camping with place for swwining and meadow. Farther in the river natural step made of rocks.

28,40 km Bridge in Grunajki.

31,60 km Bridge in Sapałówka. On the right side there is the village and closed water mill.

31,90 km The river goes alongside the route number 650 Gołdap - Banie Mazurskie - Węgorzewo. On the left side there is a village Surminy with shop and bus station.

33,70 km On the right side village Spały and on the left side village Stadnica.

34,90 km Bridge in Wróbel. On the left there are some buildings.

36,90 km Bridge on the local route. On the left beginning of Banie Mazurskie.

38,00 km Bridge in Banie Mazurskie. The best is to finish Your tour about 500meters before the farm on the right side. There is good place to take off kayaks from the water and to get there by car. You can also spend there one night more before You finish Your tour.
